On Sunday, October 18, we held a special congregational meeting to vote for a new Pastor. With a near unanimous vote, Pastor Heidi Fish has been selected as our new Pastor! Her first official Sunday was November 1 (All Saints Day). We are so excited to have Pastor Heidi with us and look forward to working with her and sharing her ideas for the future of Bethesda.
We have resumed in-person worship services, but will continue to invite you to join us online for Sunday services via Zoom, at our regular time of 10:15 am. Join the service using the link below. We have communion each week, so we encourage you to have some juice, wine, or water and some bread on hand. You may want to light a candle and set a small cross nearby. Your feedback about how Zoom is going for you is welcomed so that we can continue to improve your worship experience with Bethesda.

Gleaning every Sunday 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Gleaning: to gather (leftover grain or other produce) after a harvest.
"When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest. You shall not strip your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the alien: I am the LORD your God." (Leviticus 19:9-10)
Bethesda Lutheran Church offers a Gleaning program to connect grocery stores with our neighbors in need. Every Sunday fresh produce that can no longer be sold commercially is brought to our Fellowship Hall and set up by a dedicated group of volunteers. Those who can make use of free fruits, vegetables, potatoes, and assorted other items may line up at 3:30 p.m. (not before!) or wait in their cars in our parking lot. At 4:00 p.m. (or shortly thereafter) Katherine and J.R. will welcome in 5 people at a time to gather food. Masks and the use of hand sanitizer are required, and are available at the door. You are encouraged to bring along your own re-usable bags, although we usually have some bags available. Gleaning is closed by 5:00 p.m., or earlier, once everyone waiting has completed their gleaning.
Every Sunday evening at 5:30, you can come grocery "shop" for free in Bethesda's fellowship hall. Food is donated by local retailers, and typically includes produce and breads. Please remember to bring your reusable bags!
Gleaning will continue, despite the closure of other church events due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, a limited number of people will be allowed to enter the fellowship hall at one time. 
Our community dinner scheduled for March 9 has been canceled as a precaution due to concerns about the novel coronavirus / COVID-19. For more information about the coronavirus in our community, visit the Snohomish Health District Novel Coronavirus 2019 Page.
If you have any of the symptoms of the novel coronavirus, including cough, fever, and/or difficulty breathing: As of today, March 8, 2020, Multi-Care is offering free e-visits to anyone with these symptoms.
At this time, we still plan to resume our regular free community dinners on the second and fourth Mondays in April.
At this time, we also plan to continue holding Wednesday night soup and bread dinners (6:00 pm in the fellowship hall) during lent.

Our regular free community dinners will resume in April, on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
